From a piece over at Infinite Loop, Rogers reevaluating plan pricing ahead of iPhone 3G
Rogers COO Nadir Mohamed told the National Post. “We’ll be changing our prices to reflect that.” He added that Rogers is looking to make its pricing more flexible and easy to understand, and hopes to “drive the adoption of mobile broadband.”
I’ll believe when I see it. The Canadian wireless industry is infamous for playing fk the consumer. Especially Rogers as it is the only GSM option coast to coast. If it does happen I would attribute it to being part of their agreement with Apple rather then trying to “drive the adoption of mobile broadband.” I can imagine Steve saying: “You want to charge what? Well screw you, no iPhone for Canada if you make the product look bad like that.” I had heard that the iPhone was supposed to drop up here before Christmas and was pulled at the last second. I imaging it was over just such a point and Rogers though Jobs was bluffing.
